Thank you Ate Grace and Kuya Raffy for providing all the care needed for Dad Nestor… Thank you for all that you do and extending your arms to us for his care. It is a great relief knowing that there is a reliable, trusting, god fearing and a place comfort home for our aging folks.
We relocated Dad Nestor from Guam to Manila at God’s Grace Home Care Center. It was the hardest decision for us to make. He was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease with delusional dementia, A common illness for our aging parents. His 30-year routine at home slowly diminished and he struggled in his daily life. He was a passive person who turned hostile, combative, and demented due to his worsening condition. It is heart-rending to see him intensify everyday. He was constantly in the emergency room, ambulances were always on the scene in his house. We were frustrated, stressed, and depressed tending to his illness. It also took a toll on our health, our jobs, and our daily life. Until one day, he hurt himself badly which led us to decide to take him to Manila.
Thanks to GGHCC, It took only three days till it dawn on him that he was in a different place, a lot happier and excited. His usual routine in Guam carried on to his new home. He said his life is a lot better at GGHCC rather than in Guam. He realized he needed an assisted living. He is able to take his medicine on time, he has a 24 hour caregiver on watch, an in-house nurse to assist, constant meals, new friends, exercise as he moves around and walks around daily. The nursing home’s physician goes to him for a check up. He gets manicures and pedicures, foot spas and also a hair couturier on call as needed. His caregiver pampers him with massages before bedtime and gives him constant baths. He said he loves his hygiene because he is taken care of by his caregiver personally and he always smells good. His health was restored within 3 weeks. He is now doing well. I have give a hand to his caregiver Cris for his exceptional love and care, a remarkable job that none of us can provide to him with our full-time job.
